Finca La Monja is situated in a quiet, rural area. With the help of melt water from the Sierra Nevada, this rough Spanish landscape is filled with pine trees and green hills, alternated by almond groves in the valleys. Lorca
Finca La Monja offers tranquillity and space, yet the city of Lorca (90,000 inhabitants) with its many facilities is nearby. It is only a twenty minute drive to reach this city, where you’ll find a great variety of restaurants, bars, shops, museums and monuments. On top of that, you’ll find a cinema, a theatre and a big, modern shopping mall that was completed in 2008.
Nearby villages
The rustic village of La Parroquia is about a five minute drive from the finca. Here you’ll find basic amenities such as a supermarket, a doctor and a pharmacy. The beautiful Andalusian mountain villages Vélez Rubio and Vélez Blanco are ten minutes away from the finca. These villages offer traditional architecture, winding roads, beautiful views over the valley and restaurants with tasty local tapas.
Coast
It is a 45-minute drive from Finca La Monja to the coast. The coast line of the province of Murcia counts for more than 250 kilometres of sandy beaches, fishing villages, picturesque little bays and breathtaking cliffs.
